Job summary

JusticeWorks Family of Services invites applications for an Independent Living Specialist with JusticeWorks YouthCare. This full-time, salaried position supports youth transitioning to independence by developing essential life skills and planning education and employment paths.

The role requires evenings and weekends, a valid driver’s license, and commitment to safe, supportive mentorship within the community. You will partner with youth to promote lasting independence and success.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma required.
  • Valid driver's license, auto insurance, and reliable vehicle.
  • Ability to pass required background clearances.
  • Ability to pass pre-employment drug screening.
  • Willingness to work evenings and weekends.

Responsibilities

  • Work one-on-one with youth to build independent living skills.
  • Provide guidance in education, career, and employment planning.
  • Teach daily living skills, budgeting, and financial responsibility.
  • Support substance abuse prevention and healthy decision-making.
  • Assist youth in obtaining items through the stipend program.
  • Connect youth with community resources (housing, education, employment).
  • Transport youth to homes, foster placements, and program sites using your personal vehicle.

What You’ll Do
