Job summary

The IMAGE Center is seeking an IL Specialist and Youth Instructional Support staff member to empower youth and adults with disabilities to achieve greater independence. You will design and facilitate objective-based lessons across one-on-one, classroom, virtual, and community settings, blending coaching, advocacy, and data management to support personal goals.

Job description

As an IL Specialist andYouth Instructional Support staff member, you will empower youth and adultswith disabilities to unlock their potential and achieve greater independence.You will design and facilitate objective-based lessons in one-on-one,classroom, virtual, and community settings. This role combines direct coaching,consumer advocacy, and data management to help individuals reach their personalgoals.

Core Responsibilities

• Direct Instruction & Coaching: Follow existing or create new objective-based lesson plans to provide Pre-Employment Transition Services (PreETS) and independent living skills training and Independent Living skills training for adults living with a disability.
  
• Intake & Assessment: Perform consumer screenings and intakes, assessing individual strengths, needs, and goals for increased independence.
  
• Adaptive Teaching: Dynamically adjust lessons based on consumer health, accessibility, and diverse learning needs.
  
• Case Management & Documentation: Record consumer goals and strictly document progress, communications, and evaluations using a consumer database.
  
• Stakeholder Communication: Maintain regular contact with consumers, families, and Division of Rehabilitation Services (DORS) Counselors regarding scheduling and programming milestones.
  
• Reporting & Collaboration: Provide consumer evaluations to the Director for reporting and invoicing, while maintaining tight communication across the IMAGE Center to ensure that all consumer service needs are met.
  
• Community Outreach: Participate in community outreach events to market programs and share resources with the public.
  
• Data Security: Follow strict organizational protocols to maintain the total security and privacy of sensitive consumer information.
  

Requirements

What We’re Looking For(Requirements)

• Education: A bachelor’s degree in education or a related field is preferred (or equivalent experience).
  
• Experience: A minimum of 1–2 years of experience in an instructional, coaching, or training setting. Experience in Special Education is a major bonus or college classes in a related field.
  
• Technical Skills: Proficiency with digital tools including Microsoft Outlook, PowerPoint, OneDrive, and RingCentral for virtual meetings and collaboration.
  
• Scheduling & Travel: Availability to work a flexible schedule (including occasional weeknights and weekends, as needed).
  
• Transportation: Must have reliable transportation and the ability to travel to various locations throughout Baltimore City, Baltimore Count, and Harford County.
