Job summary

ALLCARE HOMECARE LLC in Mission Viejo, CA, is seeking an Independent Living Services (ILS) Instructor to help a client with short stature disorder gain daily living independence. This one-on-one role focuses on safety, personal care in the community, meal prep, and navigating local facilities.

You will work in home and community settings, supporting routines, mobility, bathroom needs, and access to HUD housing.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting individuals with intellectual disabilities; Cerebral Palsy preferred.
• Patient, dependable, and adaptable approach.
• Strong communication and observation skills.
• Ability to provide hands-on assistance as needed.
• Two forms of valid identification.
• Current CPR and First Aid certification.
• Live Scan fingerprint clearance.
• Current TB test clearance.

Position overview

We are seeking a reliable, patient, and attentive Independent Living Services (ILS) Instructor to provide help to a person with short stature disorder. Services will focus on increasing independence in daily living skills, meal prep/cooking, HUD housing, community navigation, and outings and ensuring safety and accessibility to community bathrooms The ideal candidate is adaptable, observant, and comfortable supporting an individual with outside in the community attending to personal needs.

Primary Goals of Support

• Help with personalcare while out in the community
• Support safe and confident community navigation
• Assist meal prep/cooking
• HUD housing

Key Responsibilities

• Provide guidance and support with bathroom needs
• Encourage independence while offering assistance as needed
• Help establish consistent daily routines

Related Challenges

The individual’s may present unique challenges that staff must be prepared to address, including:

Navigation & Safety

• Additional guidance may be required to safely navigate environments
• Staff may need to provide orientation support, mobility assistance.

Communication & Accessibility

Tasks involving: Mobility assistance while out navigating the community

Adapted Training Needs

Tasks involving: Maintaining privacy, completing toileting, and navigating restroom environments safely and appropriately.
