Job summary

Ohel Children's Home and Family Services in Queens, NY, is seeking compassionate staff for its Day Habilitation Program. You will empower adults with intellectual and/or developmental disabilities to build life skills, gain independence, and participate in community activities.

Responsibilities include supporting personal goals, leading engaging activities, and promoting dignity and choice while collaborating with families and teams.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Experience supporting individuals with intellectual and/or developmental disabilities preferred.
• Valid NY or NJ driver’s license with ability to drive a 15-passenger van strongly preferred.
• Strong communication and basic computer skills.

Responsibilities

• Support individuals in achieving personal goals and living meaningful, self-directed lives.
• Lead engaging activities that foster independent living skills, healthy habits, and community participation.
• Assist with activities of daily living (ADLs) while promoting dignity, choice, and respect.
• Accompany individuals to volunteer sites, recreational outings, and community activities.
• Complete documentation and progress notes accurately and on time.
• Collaborate with team members, families, and supervisors to provide quality support.
