Job summary

Pye-Barker Fire & Safety is seeking a 06 Journeyman Electrician to independently install, service, and maintain fire alarm, CCTV, and access control systems on commercial sites. You will interpret blueprints, perform testing, and ensure compliance with codes and safety policies while mentoring entry-level technicians.

Requirements include a high school diploma, 3+ years in fire and life safety, a clean driver’s license, and NICET Level I or higher preferred.

Qualifications

• Must have 3+ years in fire and life safety as apprentice or technician.
• Ability to work independently on standard installation jobs.
• Strong understanding of fire alarm systems, installation practices, and applicable codes.
• Must have a clean driving record and active driver’s license (if driving is required).
• NICET Level I or above preferred.

Responsibilities

• Independently install, service, and maintain fire alarm systems, CCTV systems, access control systems, and other low voltage specialty systems in accordance with plans, specifications, and applicable codes.
• Complete standard installation projects without direct supervision.
• Interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings.
• Perform system testing and basic troubleshooting.
• Travel to job sites as required.
• Train and support entry-level technicians and apprentices as needed.
