Job summary

Heartstrings Pet Hospice in Long Beach, CA is hiring Associate Veterinarians to provide compassionate in-home euthanasia, hospice, and palliative care. You will work independently in the field with strong leadership support, focusing on families and pets during life’s meaningful moments.

The role offers flexibility, autonomy, and growth within a privately owned, non-corporate practice that values compassion, dignity, and respect, with comprehensive benefits and a collaborative team environment.

Qualifications

• DVM or equivalent from an accredited school.
• Active veterinary license in California or ability to obtain.
• Valid U.S. driver’s license.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
• Weekend availability on rotating schedule.
• Background check and MVR check post-hire and prior to start date.

Responsibilities

• Provide in-home euthanasia and hospice care in a compassionate, Fear Free-aligned manner.
• Support families through end-of-life decisions with empathy and professionalism.
• Maintain accurate and timely medical documentation.
• Collaborate with Heartstrings medical leadership and support teams.
• Participate in ongoing training, education, and clinical development.
