Job summary

Ascent Global Logistics, Inc. based in Belleville, Michigan, seeks experienced Independent Freight Agents to operate under Ascent’s brokerage authority as 1099 contractors.

Build relationships, source carriers, negotiate rates, and manage shipments end-to-end from booking to delivery. Bring an active, transferable book of business, reside in the United States, and knowledge of carrier operations, dispatching, and load boards (DAT, Truckstop).

Qualifications

• Active, transferable book of business required.
• Must reside and operate in the United States.
• Strong knowledge of carrier operations, dispatching, and rate negotiation.
• Experience with TMS platforms and load boards such as DAT and Truckstop.

Responsibilities

• Build customer relationships and secure freight opportunities
• Source and qualify carriers using Ascent’s systems and tools
• Negotiate rates and handle required shipment documentation
• Manage shipments through the full lifecycle from booking to delivery
• Resolve service issues through proactive communication
• Maintain accurate system records and follow company compliance standards
