Job summary

U.S. Forensic is seeking an experienced Professional Engineer to provide forensic electrical consulting as an independent contractor (1099).

The role focuses on electrical investigations, fault analysis, fire origin and cause, and expert testimony support on a project basis across residential, commercial, and industrial facilities. Candidates should hold a PE license, have forensic engineering experience, and be capable of independent work, reporting, and travel to inspection sites within the

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited institution.
• Active PE license in good standing; multiple state licensure preferred.
• Prior forensic electrical consulting experience preferred.
• Experience in fire origin and cause investigations involving electrical systems preferred.

Responsibilities

• Conduct forensic investigations involving electrical failures, electrical fires, equipment malfunctions, power distribution systems, and damage from surge or lightning.
• Perform site inspections and gather field data, measurements, photos, and documentation.
• Analyze electrical systems, components, and equipment to determine cause and extent of failures or damage.
• Prepare clear, technically sound forensic engineering reports; participate in depositions and expert testimony as needed.
• Communicate findings effectively with clients, attorneys, and other stakeholders.
