Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited institution.
• Active Professional Engineer (PE) license in good standing; multiple state licensure preferred.
• Experience in forensic engineering or forensic electrical consulting.
• Experience with fire origin and cause investigations involving electrical systems.
• Travel to inspection sites throughout assigned region.

Responsibilities

• Conduct forensic investigations involving electrical failures, electrical fires, equipment malfunctions, power distribution systems, and damage from power surges or lightning.
• Perform site inspections and gather data, measurements, photos, and documentation.
• Analyze electrical systems to determine cause, origin, and extent of failures or damage.
• Investigate incidents across residential, commercial, industrial, and institutional facilities.
• Evaluate compliance with NEC and related standards.
• Develop defensible conclusions using engineering principles and methodologies.
• Prepare clear forensic engineering reports and testify as needed.
• Participate in depositions, mediation, arbitration, and trial proceedings as an expert witness when required.
• Communicate findings with clients, attorneys, insurance professionals, and contractors.
