Job summary

Pye-Barker Fire & Safety is seeking an Inspections Technician to perform inspection, testing, and maintenance of fire sprinkler, fire alarms, and fire extinguishers systems in Mesquite, TX. The role requires working independently with a focus on safety, accuracy, and compliance with NFPA standards.

Ideal candidates have at least 3 years in fire and life safety and NICET Level I or higher is preferred. A valid driver’s license is required for travel to job sites and on-site work.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 3+ years of experience in the fire and life safety industry as an apprentice or technician.
• NICET Level I or above preferred.
• Strong understanding of fire sprinkler systems and inspection procedures.
• Must have a clean driving record and active driver’s license (if driving is required).

Responsibilities

• Independently perform inspection, testing, and maintenance of fire sprinkler, fire alarms, and fire extinguishers systems.
• Diagnose system deficiencies and recommend corrective actions.
• Use hand tools and testing equipment to complete tasks.
• Complete documentation and inspection reports accurately and timely.
• Ensure compliance with NFPA standards and local codes.
• Communicate effectively with customers and internal team members.
• Maintain a clean and organized work environment.
• Follow safety procedures and company policies.
• Train and support entry-level technicians and apprentices as needed.
• Travel to job sites as required.
