Job summary

Pye-Barker Fire & Safety is seeking a skilled Sprinkler Test & Inspect Technician to independently inspect, test, and maintain fire sprinkler systems. You will ensure compliance with NFPA standards, complete accurate reports, and support junior technicians while traveling to job sites as needed.

Requires a high school diploma, 3+ years in fire and life safety, and an active driver's license; RME-I is required, Texas Fire Alarm license preferred, NICET I+ preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 3+ years in fire and life safety industry as apprentice or technician.
• RME-I is required for the role.
• Texas Fire Alarm License is preferred but not required.
• NICET Level I or above preferred.
• Strong understanding of fire sprinkler systems and inspection procedures.
• Must have a clean driving record and active driver’s license (if driving is required).

Responsibilities

• Independently perform inspection, testing, and maintenance of fire sprinkler systems.
• Diagnose system deficiencies and recommend corrective actions.
• Use hand tools and testing equipment to complete tasks.
• Complete documentation and inspection reports accurately and timely.
• Ensure compliance with NFPA standards and local codes.
• Communicate effectively with customers and internal team members.
• Maintain a clean and organized work environment.
• Follow all safety procedures and company policies.
• Train and support entry-level technicians and apprentices as needed.
• Travel to job sites as required.
