Job summary

Pye-Barker Fire & Safety, LLC is seeking a Fire Alarm Service Technician to independently perform core maintenance and service tasks on fire alarm systems. You will interpret drawings, use hand tools, and ensure code compliance while delivering timely service reports.

The role requires at least a high school diploma and 3+ years in the industry, with NICET Level I+ preferred. Expect travel to various job sites and participate in an on-call rotation with competitive hourly pay.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Minimum of 3+ years of experience in fire and life safety industry as a technician.
• NICET Level I or above preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform maintenance and service of fire alarm systems independently.
• Diagnose and troubleshoot system issues and implement corrective actions.
• Complete standard service calls without direct supervision.
• Interpret system drawings, specifications, and technical manuals.
• Use hand tools and testing equipment to perform required tasks.
• Ensure all work complies with applicable codes, standards, and company policies.
• Accurately complete service reports, documentation, and inspection records.
• Communicate effectively with customers, team members, and supervisors.
• Identify potential system deficiencies and recommend corrective actions.
• Maintain a clean and safe work environment on job sites.
• Provide guidance and support to entry-level technicians as needed.
• Travel to job sites as required.
• Perform work in commercial, industrial, and construction environments.
• Performs other duties as assigned by management.
• Must be willing to perform maintenance, inspections and some small retrofits and installation of fire alarms.
