Job summary

Pye-Barker Fire & Safety in Allentown, PA is seeking a Fire Alarm Service Technician to independently perform core service and maintenance tasks on fire alarm systems. You will apply industry knowledge, troubleshoot issues, and ensure compliance with codes and standards.

Ideal candidates have 3+ years in the fire and life safety industry, a High school diploma, and NICET Level I or higher preferred. Travel to various job sites and training opportunities are included as part of the role.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• 3+ years in fire and life safety industry as a technician.
• NICET Level I or above preferred.
• Strong understanding of fire alarm systems and troubleshooting methods.
• Ability to work independently and manage assigned tasks.
• If Driving Role: Must have a clean driving record and active driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Perform maintenance and service of fire alarm systems independently.
• Diagnose and troubleshoot system issues and implement corrective actions.
• Complete standard service calls without direct supervision.
• Interpret system drawings, specifications, and technical manuals.
• Use hand tools and testing equipment to perform required tasks.
• Ensure all work complies with applicable codes, standards, and company policies.
• Accurately complete service reports, documentation, and inspection records.
• Communicate effectively with customers, team members, and supervisors.
• Identify potential system deficiencies and recommend corrective actions.
• Maintain a clean and safe work environment on job sites.
• Provide guidance and support to entry-level technicians as needed.
• Travel to job sites as required.
• Perform work in commercial, industrial, and construction environments.
• Performs other duties as assigned by management.
