Job summary

Pye-Barker Fire & Safety is seeking a Fire Alarm/Sprinkler Test & Inspect Technician to independently inspect, test, and troubleshoot fire alarm and sprinkler systems, ensuring compliance with NFPA standards and local codes. This role requires problem-solving skills and the ability to train junior technicians on site.

The ideal candidate holds a high school diploma, 3+ years in fire and life safety, NICET Level 2, and FASA Certification, with readiness to travel to job sites and work

Qualifications

• Experience inspecting and testing fire alarm and sprinkler systems.
• Ability to read system drawings and technical documents.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Working knowledge of NFPA 72 and applicable codes.

Responsibilities

• Independently perform inspection, testing, and maintenance of fire alarm and sprinkler systems.
• Comply with NFPA standards and local codes during inspections and testing.
• Conduct device activations, system checks, and alarm verifications.
• Diagnose system deficiencies and recommend corrective actions.
• Perform basic troubleshooting and minor repairs as qualified.
• Train and support entry-level technicians and apprentices as needed.
