Job summary
The Comforted Kitty is seeking a professional pet sitter & dog walker in the Durham, NC area. Work independently, visiting clients’ homes to care for dogs and cats, with flexible, part-time shifts and you set your availability.
Care will include dog walking, drop-ins, and overnight visits as needed. Strong communication, reliability, and weekend availability are valued. Compensation starts per visit with bonuses for top performance.
Qualifications
- Experienced with dog or cat care in a pet-sitting capacity.
- Confident handling dogs from small to large.
- Reliable, punctual and detail-oriented.
- Strong written communication.
- Comfortable working independently in clients’ homes.
- Smartphone with reliable internet & camera.
- Medication experience (oral, injections, fluids).
- Holiday & weekend availability.
Responsibilities
- Provide in-home dog or cat sitting visits and dog walking.
- Feed, refresh water, and clean up after pets.
- Give playtime and companionship per pet personality.
- Send visit updates and photos via our app.
- Follow each client’s detailed care instructions.
- Bring in mail or packages; adjust lights and trash when requested.
- Administer medication when within your experience and comfort level.
