Purpose of Job

We are seeking skilled American Sign Language Interpreters to join our team in two key roles: Community Interpreting and Educational Interpreting.Both candidates will provide sign language interpreting services to individuals throughout Northern Ohio who are Deaf or Hard-of-Hearing, ensuring adherence to the Interpreter’s Code of Ethics.

Requirements

The ideal candidates are fluent in American Sign Language and have experience working in community or educational settings as the job requires. Skills required include:

• Educational background and training as a professional sign language interpreter.
• Work experience in a professional environment as a sign language interpreter with an interpreting agency, school or as an independent contractor.
• Excellent communication skills along with the ability to work in a variety of settings with diverse communication needs and preferences.
• Must have reliable transportation for assignments in the following counties:
• Cuyahoga
• Lorain
• Medina
• Erie
• Huron
• Lake
• Sandusky
• Geauga
• Other Northern Ohio counties
