Qualifications

Professional Pharmacy is seeking an experienced, patient-focused pharmacist to join our growing independent pharmacy team. We are looking for someone who enjoys working directly with patients, values teamwork, and shares our belief that pharmacists should play an active clinical role in patient care.

This position can be structured as full-time or part-time, with flexible scheduling options available for the right candidate.

About Professional Pharmacy

Professional Pharmacy is an independent community pharmacy with a strong clinical focus. In addition to traditional community pharmacy services, our practice has expanded to include compounding, long-term care pharmacy, immunizations, medication management, adherence services, long-acting injectable therapies, and other patient-centered clinical programs.

The ideal pharmacist is someone who:

  • Enjoys working with patients and developing relationships with them
  • Has a strong clinical mindset and looks beyond simply filling the prescription
  • Enjoys administering vaccinations and discussing immunizations with patients

Responsibilities may include:

  • Reviewing and dispensing prescriptions safely and accurately
  • Counseling patients and providing medication education
  • Administering vaccines and actively supporting the pharmacy’s immunization programs
  • Identifying drug interactions, therapeutic concerns, adherence issues, and opportunities to improve medication therapy
  • Communicating with prescribers and other members of the healthcare team
  • Supporting medication synchronization, adherence packaging, medication management, and other clinical services
  • Assisting with long-term care and residential pharmacy services as needed
  • Participating in community-based clinical programs and vaccination clinics
  • Supporting compounded prescription services
  • Supervising and collaborating with pharmacy technicians, interns, and students
  • Helping maintain compliance with applicable pharmacy laws, regulations, policies, and quality standards
  • Contributing ideas to improve workflow, patient care, and pharmacy services

Qualifications

Required:

  • Active pharmacist license in the State of Maryland
  • Minimum of 3 years of pharmacist experience
  • Strong patient counseling and communication skills
  • Comfortable and enthusiastic about administering vaccinations
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment
  • Strong clinical judgment and commitment to patient-centered care

Preferred / A Plus:

  • Experience with PioneerRx
  • Independent or community pharmacy experience
  • Experience with clinical pharmacy services, medication management, immunizations, or collaborative patient care
