Job summary

Beacon Inspections is seeking Commercial Vehicle Inspectors as independent contractors for a US-wide network. You’ll perform inspections on trucks, trailers, and equipment with flexible daylight hours and minimal supervision.

As a contractor, you will be paid a flat rate per inspection plus mileage reimbursement. ASE certification is preferred and a reliable vehicle with a modern smartphone or tablet is required to complete tasks such as taking photos, filming, and documenting diagnostics.

Qualifications

• Experience with trucks, trailers, and equipment.
• Access to a smartphone/tablet with data plan.
• Proficiency with iOS, Google Chrome, and Microsoft.
• Access to a laptop/desktop computer.
• Possible use of a heavy‑duty diagnostic scanner (OBD II) or willingness to purchase.
• Tire depth gauge required.
• Reliable vehicle and valid driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Flexible schedule with 48–72 hour inspection turnaround.
• Schedule appointments with on-site contact for inspector.
• Move vehicle to capture photos/videos.
• Check diagnostics with scanner/OBD II.
• Check for leaks and deficiencies in equipment.
• Take 100+ photos per inspection.
• Film video of inspections.
