Job summary

Beacon Inspections is seeking Commercial Vehicle Inspectors to join a network of independent contractors across the continental US. You will inspect commercial trucks, trailers, and equipment on a flexible, ad-hoc schedule.

As an independent contractor, you’ll be paid a flat rate per inspection plus mileage reimbursement, with minimal supervision and the freedom to select inspections you want to take. A reliable vehicle and smartphone are required.

Qualifications

• Detail oriented and organized.
• Access to a newer smartphone or tablet with sufficient data plan.
• Proficiency with iOS, Google Chrome, and Microsoft.
• Access to a laptop/desktop computer.
• Heavy Duty Truck Diagnostic Scanner (must read fault codes) or willingness to purchase.
• Tire depth gauge.
• Reliable vehicle and a valid driver's license.

Responsibilities

• Flexible schedule (daylight hours, Mon–Fri) with 48–72 hour turnaround.
• Schedule appointment with on-site contact for inspector.
• Start and move vehicle to capture photos/videos.
• Check diagnostics using scanner or onboard systems.
• Check for leaks and deficiencies.
• Record tire and brake depths; take 100+ photos and film video.
