Job summary

Gracehaven is seeking a qualified, independently licensed behavioral health professional to serve as a Contracted Clinical Assessor. This independent contractor position provides timely, trauma-informed behavioral health assessments for children and adolescents receiving residential, congregate-care, community-based, or related support services.

The assessor evaluates mental health needs, safety concerns, and level of care, offering clear recommendations to support treatment planning and crisis

Qualifications

• Master’s or doctoral degree in a relevant behavioral health discipline with licensure.
• Independent professional license in good standing for provided services.
• Experience assessing children and adolescents in behavioral health contexts.
• Knowledge of trauma-informed care, crisis assessment, and suicide-risk assessment.
• Ability to document clearly, professionally, and in compliance with standards.

Responsibilities

• Conduct trauma-informed, developmentally appropriate behavioral health assessments.
• Review referrals, medical and educational records, and collateral information.
• Interview youth and collect information from families and care providers.
• Evaluate functioning and resilience; use assessment instruments to inform care.
• Provide clinical recommendations for treatment planning and referrals.
