Job summary

Avail Health & Behavioral Solutions, LLC is seeking a Direct Care Provider to join our registry as an independent contractor in Crestview, FL. You will provide one-on-one community support for a high-functioning 20-year-old male on the autism spectrum, acting as a companion and mentor to practice social skills in real-world settings.

Shifts are flexible and part-time (about 8 hours weekly). A valid driver's license, reliable vehicle, and ability to pass background screening are required;

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Valid driver’s license and reliable personal vehicle.
• Ability to pass Level II Background Screening.
• Experience supporting individuals with disabilities or behavioral health needs.
• Demonstrated ability to manage client care and safety with limited supervision.
• Personal smartphone for app-based scheduling and communication.
• CPR/First Aid Certification required within 30 days of onboarding.
• APD Training Certificates required within 30 days.
• CNA, BLS, HHA, or DSP certifications preferred (not required).

What does a typical shift look like?

The client is conversational, high-functioning, and does not need medical assistance or clinical support. He just needs a solid person to hang out with and help him navigate social settings. A typical shift includes teaming up with the client to do activities like...

• Hitting the gym and working out
• Going fishing or shopping at Bass Pro Shops
• Playing video games at home or going to the arcade
• Bowling or playing putt-putt at the mall
• Grabbing lunch and practicing social skills (like mock job interviews)

What do you need to apply?

• High School Diploma or GED
• Valid driver’s license and reliable personal vehicle for professional use (gas/mileage not reimbursed)
• Ability to pass a Level II Background Screening
• Experience supporting individuals with disabilities or behavioral health needs
• Demonstrated ability to manage client care and safety with limited supervision
• Personal smartphone required for app-based scheduling and client communication
• CPR/First Aid Certification (required within 30 days of onboarding)
• APD Training Certificates (required within 30 days of onboarding)
