Island Doctor is seeking an Advanced Registered Nurse Practitioner to manage health problems and coordinate care for patients in accordance with state and federal rules and nursing standards.

The role includes independent patient assessments, ordering tests, prescribing medications, and collaborating with the healthcare team to provide primary medical care consistent with standard of care. Strong clinical and IT skills are essential.

Qualifikationen

• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
• Graduate of an accredited Nurse Practitioner Program.
• Current Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) Licensure.
• Current Nurse Practitioner certification in specialty area.
• Strong computer skills, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

Aufgaben

• Functions independently to perform age-appropriate history and physical for complex acute, critical, and chronically ill perioperative patients.
• Order laboratory and radiology tests and refer patients to specialists when appropriate.
• Prescribe pharmaceuticals, other medications, and treatment regimens to treat identified and documented medical conditions.
• Discuss potential side effects of medication/treatment with patients and ensure that all allergy information is up-to-date before prescribing medication/treatment.
• Work with the primary healthcare team to provide patients with primary medical care services within the standard of care for primary care patients.
• Analyze reports, test results, medical records and examinations to diagnose condition of patients and propose treatment options.
• Provide advice to patients for lifestyle and diet changes that may improve their health or help to treat the health issue they are experiencing.
• Adhere to departmental policies, procedures and objectives, ongoing quality improvement objectives and safety, environmental, and infection control standards.
• Maintain patient confidentiality and comply with all federal and state health information privacy laws.
• Record complete, timely and legible medical records.
• Assist with training and compliance actions.
• Performs other duties as needed.
