Job summary

Killeen Independent School District is seeking an Orientation and Mobility Specialist to support students who are blind or visually impaired across the district. You will develop individualized O&M programs, provide direct instruction, and collaborate with vision teachers and staff.

You will document assessments, set IEP goals, coordinate with families and outside agencies, and ensure compliance with district policies and ethical guidelines.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required in Rehabilitation Science or equivalent.
• Certification in Orientation and Mobility required or preferred.
• Ability to read and interpret professional documents and write reports.

Responsibilities

• Assist visually impaired students with orientation and mobility needs.
• Develop IEP goals and ECI outcomes and maintain related records.
• Evaluate and refer for needed services and coordinate with staff and agencies.
• Maintain Medicaid billing documentation and district records.
• Provide direct instructional services and consult with school personnel.
