Job summary

Menzies Aviation in Indianapolis, IN is hiring a part-time Customer Service Agent to check in passengers, verify documents, assign seats and assist at the ticket counter and gates. You will follow uniform guidelines and provide friendly, helpful service in a fast-paced airport environment.

Candidates should be 18+, have a valid US driver's license, and strong English reading/writing and communication skills.

Qualifications

  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • Must have a current valid US driver’s license.
  • Ability to read, write and speak English.
  • Must be able to stand for long periods at the counter and gates.
  • Must pass FBI background check and obtain US Customs seal.
  • Available to work variable shifts including weekends and holidays.
  • Prior customer service experience preferred.
  • Intermediate computer skills required.

Responsibilities

  • Assist passengers with check-ins, verification, gate information, baggage claims and any other passenger issues in the airport.
  • Interpret identification labels along with baggage and cargo routing tags.
  • Host self-service kiosks.
  • Ensure that all work areas are organized.
  • Keep a positive attitude while offering assistance.
  • Ensure the safe and secure operations.
  • Comfortable lifting/moving up to 70lbs of cargo and baggage.
  • Some bending, stretching, pushing & pulling.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Role Purpose

The Customer Service Agent will be responsible for checking in passengers for flights at the ticket counter and gates; as well as verifying passenger documentation, assigning seats, providing gate information, checking baggage, and assisting passengers with their issues in the airport. This individual must adhere to Menzies Aviation uniform guidelines and codes of conduct.

What you will be doing

Assist passengers with check-ins, verification, gate information, baggage claims and any other passenger issues in the airport, be enthusiastic and keep a positive attitude while offering assistance.
Host self-service kiosks and verify passengers’ documents prior to boarding aircraft,
Interpret identification labels along with baggage and cargo routing tags.
Ensure that all work areas are organized and functional (check-in, lobby, gate, baggage).
Other responsibilities in the gate area include making announcements, checking baggage, and assigning seats.
