Job summary

Bird is seeking a Receiving Inspector in Solon, OH to perform incoming, in-process, and final inspections ensuring our products meet quality standards. You will interact with suppliers and coordinate with the Quality Manager and Quality Engineer to resolve issues.

The ideal candidate has an associate degree or equivalent QA experience, 2–5 years in QA, knowledge of ISO 9001:2015, and hands-on skills with meters, gauges, calipers, and engineering drawings. Electrical testing experience is a plus.

Qualifications

• Associates degree in related field or applicable experience.
• Two to five years Quality Assurance experience.
• Knowledge of ISO 9001:2015 required.
• Experience using mechanical and metrology equipment such as meters, gauges, calipers, and other measuring equipment.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
• Experience in performing electrical testing preferred.
• Excellent communication and team skills.

Responsibilities

• Inspect and approve incoming materials by confirming specifications, conducting visual and measurement tests, transferring acceptable materials in the ERP system, and rejecting and returning unacceptable materials.
• Perform in-process and final electrical and mechanical inspections by confirming specifications, conducting visual inspections, and communicating required corrections to Production.
• Develop and maintain quality inspection work instructions with the assistance of Quality Engineering.
• Lead supplier corrective action analysis and response.
• Receive in Return Material Authorizations (RMAs).
• Label chemicals per Safety Data Sheet (SDS) procedures.
• Maintain measurement equipment in good condition by following recommended handling practices, calibration requirements, and internal repair procedures.
• Maintain a safe and healthy work environment by following standards and procedures and complying with legal regulations.
