Job Summary
The Incoming Quality Manager oversees and ensures the quality of all incoming materials and components used in manufacturing. This role is crucial for maintaining product quality standards, reducing defects, and ensuring supplier compliance with quality requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
- Incoming Quality Control:
- Develop and implement incoming quality control procedures for PCBA components and raw materials.
- Perform inspections and tests on incoming materials based on specifications and standards.
- Maintain and update inspection criteria for electronic components, PCBs, and other materials.
- Supplier Management:
- Evaluate and approve suppliers based on quality performance.
- Conduct supplier audits and establish corrective action plans for quality improvements.
- Monitor supplier quality performance and maintain a supplier quality scorecard.
- Non-Conformance Management:
- Investigate non-conforming materials and initiate corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).
- Work closely with suppliers to resolve quality issues and prevent recurrence.
- Maintain records of non-conformances, corrective actions, and root cause analysis.
- Team Management:
- Lead and mentor a team of quality inspectors and technicians.
- Conduct training sessions for the team on quality standards and inspection techniques.
- Quality Systems Management:
- Ensure compliance with ISO 9001, IPC-A-610, and other relevant standards.
- Develop and maintain standard operating procedures (SOPs) for incoming quality control.
- Maintain accurate documentation of inspection reports and quality records.
- Continuous Improvement:
- Lead quality improvement projects for incoming materials.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams (production, engineering, R&D) for quality enhancement.
- Reporting:
- Prepare and present regular quality reports to management.
- Monitor key quality metrics (incoming defect rate, supplier performance).
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Electronics, Electrical Engineering, Quality Management, or a related field.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in quality management, with at least 3 years in PCBA manufacturing.
- Strong knowledge of IPC-A-610 standards, ISO 9001, and other quality systems.
- Experience with supplier quality management and auditing.
- Proficient in using quality tools (8D, FMEA, CAPA).
- Excellent communication and leadership skills.
- Certification in Six Sigma (Green Belt or higher) is an advantage.
