Job Overview

The Rooms Inspector ensures associates promptly clean public areas and guest rooms are maintained, cleaned, and inspected to standard for resale to incoming guests. Responsible for training associates on customer service, cleaning standards, and adherence to departmental operations. Inspects rooms and assigned areas for cleanliness and maintenance.

Responsibilities
  • Supervise, coach, counsel, and train Public Area Attendants, Room Attendants, and Runners.
  • Supervise and inspect the cleaning of guest rooms, turndown service, public areas, and back of the house; ensure compliance with accident/loss prevention programs, SOPs, health/sanitation standards, and regulations to achieve high cleanliness and guest satisfaction.
  • Assign tasks to staff, reviewing special requests and areas of focus to maintain smooth housekeeping operations.
  • Issue supplies/goods to staff at the beginning of shifts, controlling inventory and expenses.
  • Respond to guest requests, concerns, and problems to ensure satisfaction. Log items into the Lost and Found and answer inquiries to maintain control and guest satisfaction.
  • Implement emergency procedures to protect the hotel, guests, staff, and assets.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by management.
Qualifications

Education/Formal Training: High school diploma or equivalent.

Experience: 1-2 years in a related position, either with this company or another organization.

Knowledge/Skills:

  • Knowledge of Housekeeping operations, policies, and services, typically learned on-the-job.
  • Supervisory skills.
  • Ability to interpret reports.
Physical Demands
  • Ability to communicate effectively with guests and staff.
  • Inspect guest rooms and review reports.
  • Lift, push, pull, and carry up to 50 lbs. of linen, supplies, or furniture.
  • Bend, kneel, and perform other physical activities required for cleaning and inspections.
  • Maintain mobility and continuous movement throughout the hotel, including climbing stairs and using ladders as needed.
