Job summary

Women In Need (Win) is seeking an Employment Specialist (Job Developer) to help clients in transitional housing achieve financial stability through employment and education. You will partner with individuals to provide job readiness, career coaching, and connections to hiring employers across New York City.

You will collaborate with case managers and housing staff to align employment goals with housing stability while using motivational interviewing and trauma-informed care to engage clients

Qualifications

• 2+ years of experience connecting people to jobs or career opportunities.
• Bachelor's Degree preferred.
• Experience supporting adults in achieving employment goals.
• Ability to build strong employer relationships and convert them into opportunities.
• Strong coaching, motivation, and communication with diverse clients.
• Strong organizational skills to manage multiple clients and priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Develop job opportunities by building relationships with employers, staffing agencies, and workforce partners.
• Match clients to appropriate job openings and support them through the hiring process.
• Connect clients to vocational training, education programs, and career advancement opportunities.
• Facilitate job readiness workshops, computer skills training, and financial literacy sessions.
• Plan and support hiring events such as job fairs and recruitment drives.
• Track and document client progress in employment and income-building activities.
• Collaborate with Case Managers, Housing staff, and other service providers to align employment goals with housing stability.
• Utilize evidence-based approaches such as Motivational Interviewing and Trauma-Informed Care to engage clients.
