N/A Unified Bocce Coach at a Middle School is responsible for supervising and coordinating the interscholastic Unified bocce program in collaboration with Special Olympics PA. The role focuses on developing bocce skills, team strategy and inclusive athletic participation, while engaging student-athletes and partners in leadership activities and community events.

Qualifications

• Experience/knowledge in bocce is preferred or willingness to learn.
• Knowledge of Special Olympics programming, Unified Bocce is preferred.
• Coaches must complete two PA requirements: Coaching Education and First Aid, with two years to complete for new hires.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the administration of the Middle School’s after-school Unified Indoor Bocce program.
• Teach bocce techniques, rules, strategies and playing tactics.
• Recruit appropriate number of Special Olympics-eligible and non-eligible students and collect paperwork.
• Liaise with Special Olympics Pennsylvania staff and the athletic director to ensure quality standards.
• Plan and implement practice plans; manage competition strategies for matches.
