Gestalt Community Schools in Tennessee seeks a Special Education/Interventionist teacher to create a flexible program and learning environment for students with disabilities, applying individualized education plans and collaborating with a multidisciplinary team.

You will plan and deliver instruction using specialized strategies, monitor progress, and maintain student records while engaging families. A focus on inclusive practices and ongoing professional development is essential.

Formación

• Holds a current TN teaching license in Special Education or Interventionist with appropriate endorsement codes (Required)
• Have a bachelor’s degree or higher.
• Proven track record of academic success as evident in TVAAS, state assessments, and value add data. (Preferred)
• Hold the belief that all students can learn at high academic levels.
• Uses digital content, technology integration, and project-based learning in a highly proficient manner.

Responsabilidades

• Employ special educational strategies and techniques during instruction to improve development of sensory- and perceptual-motor skills, language, cognition, and memory.
• Instruct students in academic subjects using phonetics, multi-sensory learning, and repetition to meet students' needs.
• Teach socially acceptable behavior as determined by IEPs using a positive behavioral support system.
• Modify the general education curriculum for students with disabilities using various instructional techniques and technologies.
• Plan activities for a balanced program of instruction and observation to foster inquiry.
• Establish and enforce behavior rules and create a conducive learning environment.
• Meet with parents to discuss progress and determine priorities for individualized needs.
• Confer with parents, administrators, testing specialists, social workers, and others to develop IEPs.
• Maintain accurate student records and prepare required reports.
• Establish clear objectives for lessons and communicate them to students.
• Develop plans for communication, monitoring, and follow-up for inclusive settings.
• Provide crisis intervention as needed in inclusive classrooms.
• Assist in data collection for appropriate interventions.
• Serve on a multidisciplinary team as appropriate.
• Prepare data for local, state, and federal reports.
• Maintain professional competence through staff development and curriculum meetings.
