City of Miami Beach seeks a Recreation Assistant to provide one-on-one support for children with moderate to severe special needs within recreational programs. You will help organize, modify, and lead activities under the supervision of the Park Manager at your assigned site.

Responsibilities include supervising participants, evaluating skill levels, implementing behavior plans, and facilitating social interactions.

Formación

• Associates degree or equivalent in Therapeutic Recreation, Special Education, Recreation, or related field, or two years' experience with specials needs.
• CPR and First Aid certifications must obtain within 6 months of hire.
• DCF 40-hour childcare training within 90 days of employment.
• Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing.

Responsabilidades

• Supervises participants in sports, games, recreation and athletic activities including field trips.
• Evaluates participants' skill level and assess capacity to participate.
• Implements behavior plans and maintains required documentation.
• Assists participants to adapt to activities and facilitates social interactions.
• Conducts diversified recreational activities (music, dance, arts, swimming, etc.).
• Maintains attendance and activity reports; handles records and receipts.
• Reports inquiries and complaints; provides excellent customer service.
• Enforces safety rules and participates in emergency procedures.
