Job summary

Bay Area Community Resources (BACR) invites an Inclusion Specialist to advance equitable access to academic and enrichment activities for diverse learners in K-12 programs in the San Francisco Bay Area.

The role emphasizes trauma-informed, culturally responsive practices, collaboration with school-day staff, families, and site teams, and ongoing CQI to strengthen inclusive programming.

Qualifications

  • Associate degree or higher and 48 college units, or passage of the Instructional Aide examination.
  • Experience working with youth in educational, afterschool, enrichment, recreation, or community-based settings.
  • Ability to build positive relationships with youth and families from diverse backgrounds.
  • Ability to work during after-school hours through the academic school year.
  • Successful completion of background clearance, TB clearance, and required trainings.

Responsibilities

  • Build trusting relationships and foster a strong sense of belonging through consistent connection and proactive support for all students.
  • Provide individualized and small-group support for inclusion students while promoting dignity, independence, and peer connection.
  • Address conflict, bullying, exclusion, and behavioral concerns using culturally responsive, restorative approaches.
  • Attend training, coaching, staff meetings, and professional development, applying feedback to improve inclusion practices and program quality.
  • Maintain accurate attendance, incident reports, progress notes, and required documentation.
