Job summary

Bay Area Community Resources, Inc. is seeking an Inclusion Specialist to deliver high-quality expanded learning experiences for K-12 youth. You will support academic, social-emotional, and developmental growth, ensuring access and belonging for students with diverse learning needs.

You will collaborate with program staff, school-day personnel, and families to implement accommodations, promote independence, and foster inclusive environments across activities and routines.

Qualifications

  • Associate degree or higher, 48 college units, or passage of the Instructional Aide examination.
  • Experience working with youth in educational, afterschool, enrichment, recreation, or community-based settings.
  • Ability to build positive relationships with youth and families from diverse backgrounds.
  • Ability to work during after-school hours and commit through the academic year.
  • Background clearance, TB clearance, and required trainings completed.
  • Basic proficiency with email, Google Drive, and related technology platforms.
  • Ability to implement accommodations and collaborate with school-day and expanded learning staff.

Responsibilities

  • Build trusting relationships and foster a strong sense of belonging for all students.
  • Support students’ social-emotional learning through relationship-building, restorative practices, de-escalation, and strengths-based approaches.
  • Provide individualized and small-group support for inclusion students while promoting dignity, independence, and peer connection.
  • Address conflict, bullying, exclusion, and behavioral concerns using culturally responsive, restorative approaches.
  • Collaborate with families and school staff to coordinate supports and accommodations.
