The ideal candidate has NYS SPED certification or strong eligibility, a Bachelor’s degree, and a commitment to a mission-driven, collaborative school culture within the KIPP NYC network.

Qualifications

• Strong interpersonal skills and collaborative approach.
• Two years teaching experience preferred.
• New York State SPED certification strongly recommended.
• Bachelor’s degree required.
• Team-oriented, mission-driven school culture.
• Desire to grow and improve as a teacher.
• Evidence of improving student achievement within KIPP NYC communities.

Responsibilities

• Plan and implement a rigorous college preparatory curriculum aligned with Common Core.
• Co-teach in an inclusion classroom to support all students.
• Adapt and differentiate instruction using multiple modalities.
• Assess student progress and communicate results to families and colleagues.
• Provide targeted instructional interventions for students in need.
• Model a growth mindset and KIPP NYC character strengths in all interactions.
