Qualifications

• Requires an Associate degree or ParaPro test passing score.
• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills.
• Knowledge of, experience with and ability to work with students in PreK-12th grades.
• Current CPR and first aid certification or ability to obtain certification.

Responsibilities

• Assist certified teachers to maintain a well-organized, smoothly functioning classroom.
• Provide instructional support services directly to students.
• Follow applicable laws, policies, and district guidelines.
• Establish rapport with students, staff and community.
• Assist in behavioral management, monitor student progress and collect data as needed.
• Prepare training materials and supply inventories as directed by teachers.
• In emergencies, substitute for the teacher when needed.
• Assist in non-instructional duties such as hall duties and lunchroom supervision.
