Job summary

Winslow Unified School Dist 1 is seeking a Paraprofessional to provide a safe and academic environment for at‑risk students assigned to the focus zone in lieu of suspension. You will support students with behavioral challenges and work with minimal supervision across district sites.

This non‑exempt, classified position requires effective communication, basic computer skills, and experience with at‑risk populations.

Qualifications

Associate Degree or Passing Score on ParaPro test required.
Experience working with at‑risk student population.
Effective oral and written communication skills.
Basic computer skills.

Responsibilities

Follows local, state and federal law and adheres to Board policy.
Keeps records of all student contacts.
Data collection and analysis / document outcomes of discrete trials and behavior data.
Assists in parent involvement activities encouraging parental involvement of at‑risk students.
Makes referrals for at‑risk students to resources within the district.
Assists in devising strategies based on understanding student needs, interests, and abilities.
Uses applied behavior teaching, communication, and reinforcement techniques.
Supervises and assists the assigned student in classroom settings.
Presents information effectively in one‑to‑one or small groups.
Participates in district and school meetings and in‑service activities.
