Job summary

The Opportunity Alliance is seeking an Early Childhood Ed Tech to support Head Start and Early Head Start classrooms in the Greater Portland, Maine area. You will assist teachers, provide targeted support to children with developmental delays, and help keep progress records for IEPs.

You'll work across multiple classrooms, provide one-on-one or small-group instruction, and help create inclusive learning environments while collaborating with families and professionals to promote school readiness

Qualifications

• Maine Ed Tech II or III certification required.
• Experience teaching preschool-age children.
• Knowledge of current special education practices.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills.
• Ability to adapt instructional strategies for diverse learners.
• Commitment to social justice and the Head Start mission.
• Must pass background checks and immunizations.
• Valid driver’s license may be required for site-to-site travel.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct instruction and support to children with special needs.
• Monitor and document progress and adjust strategies.
• Collaborate with the teaching team to create inclusive classrooms.
• Support teachers in implementing accommodations and modifications.
• Develop and implement IEPs with families and professionals.
• Participate in parent conferences and meetings.
