Job summary

MRC Industries, Inc. is seeking an Art Instructor to assist the artWorks Supervisor in creating a person-centered, safe environment for artists with disabilities and to help develop vocational skills through varied media, while producing saleable art.

You will support artists through instruction, planning, and participation in shows and events, with a focus on independence and market-ready artwork, in a retail/storefront/art studio setting.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Minimum one year education and/or experience in the visual arts with ability to guide and direct art media.
• Education and/or experience working with individuals with disabilities preferred.

Responsibilities

• Work hands-on with artists to motivate creativity and independent problem solving to reach their potential in art career paths.
• Support progress through positive reinforcement and constructive feedback; help artists be independent.
• Instruct artists in proper care and use of tools and supplies and develop lesson plans for groups.
• Assist in hanging and presenting artist artworks and participating in art shows and events.
• Ensure compliance with health and safety protocols and protect recipient rights and confidentiality.
