Job summary

Little City is seeking an Art Center Educator and Coordinator to foster an inclusive studio environment for adults with disabilities. You will provide instruction, technical support, and access to materials while coordinating daily operations, curriculum, and community engagement opportunities.

You will promote participant representation in the arts community and adapt communication and instruction to meet diverse needs, supporting personal growth and community contributions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Fine Arts or related field required.
• Minimum of 1 year of experience working with individuals with disabilities.
• Strong interpersonal skills, patience, flexibility and active listening.
• Demonstrated creativity and passion for hands-on artmaking.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and work independently.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and basic computer applications.
• Ability to complete DSP training within 120 days.
• Valid Illinois driver’s license if operating agency vehicles.

Responsibilities

• Designs and plans classroom activities and curriculum for participants.
• Schedules art classes, workshops, and exhibits in coordination with the Director.
• Supports development of a creative social enterprise for arts education.
• Maintains supplies and materials within budget.
• Supervises staff, volunteers, and interns including scheduling and payroll.
• Oversees gallery operations, exhibits, and customer service.
