Qualifications

• Valid Rhode Island certification for Secondary Grades Special Education (7-12) or middle school endorsement for 6-8 or special ed. K-8.
• ESOL certification is required or must be obtained via emergency certification within three years.
• Deep content knowledge and ability to differentiate curriculum for students with disabilities and multilingual learners.
• Experience collaborating with general education and ELL staff to meet IEP goals.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with classroom teachers and support staff to implement IEP services in inclusive settings.
• Plan and deliver instruction aligned with Common Core and ELA/Math standards for grades 6-8.
• Develop accommodations/modifications to support language development and access to curriculum.
• Use data to set academic goals and monitor progress for students with disabilities.
• Engage families and maintain regular communication about student progress.
