Qualifications

• Education: Bachelor’s degree or higher from an accredited institution.
• Hold a valid Massachusetts Teaching License in Teacher of Students with Moderate Disabilities, PreK-12 OR Teacher of Students with Severe Disabilities, All Levels.
• Hold a valid Massachusetts SEI Endorsement OR Grade-level appropriate ESL License; meet all state and federal guidelines to be fully licensed and Highly Qualified.

Responsibilities

• Plans a program of study that meets individual student needs, interests, and abilities.
• Collaborate with classroom teachers, other special education teachers, and specialists to provide comprehensive services.
• Promote and support research-based strategies to ensure transition and generalization of goals within the regular education environment.
• Assess student progress toward objectives and provide feedback to students, parents and administration.
• Manage caseload documentation, Annual Reviews, parent/Team conferences, and communications with families and providers.
• Utilize classroom management strategies including a positive behavior system to support a motivating instructional environment.
• Use data-based decision-making to guide instruction and planning.
