Job summary

Veoliaenvironnementsa seeks an experienced operations technician to support incineration and gas scrubbing processes in a hazardous waste environment. You will manage roll-off boxes, operate heavy equipment, monitor APC systems, perform sampling, and ensure compliance with safety and permit rules.

You will routinely start up and shut down residual collection systems, assist with slag removal, and respond to emergencies as part of the Emergency Response Team, maintaining safe, efficient plant

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED preferred.
• 2+ years in hazardous waste or chemical industry in a related role preferred.
• Proficiency in handling forklifts and heavy equipment preferred.
• 6+ months in current position.

Responsibilities

• Operate shift roll-off truck and move roll-off boxes.
• Maintain boxes and report issues to supervisor.
• Assist with start-up/shutdown of residual collection systems.
• Maintain ash-handling operations and related systems.
• Perform sampling of residual containers and compliance checks.
• Act as outside operator for APC train and troubleshoot equipment.
• Operate vacuum equipment (80 BBL, 130 BBL, guzzler) and manage inventory.
• Coordinate with area operators during inspections and remediate discrepancies.
• Perform lockout/tagout and issue permits as needed.
• Respond as part of the Emergency Response Team to incidents.
• Support slag removal and other incinerator operations as required.
