Job summary

CareNow - Mt Pleasant, affiliated with HCA Healthcare, seeks a Medical Scribe to document patient encounters in real time and support efficient clinic workflow. You will work closely with providers, enter orders into the EMR, and ensure accurate, confidential medical records while maintaining high-quality patient care.

Requirements include a high school diploma or GED, 1 year healthcare experience with medical terminology, and current BLS certification.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• One year of experience in a clinical or healthcare setting with proficiency in medical terminology.
• Strong typing, documentation, and computer skills with exceptional attention to detail.
• Current BLS certification required.
• Associate's or Bachelor's degree, completion of Anatomy & Physiology coursework, Medical Scribe certification, Medical Coding certification, or prior urgent care experience preferred.
• Excellent communication, organizational, and time management skills with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced clinical environment.

Responsibilities

• Document patient visits in real time by accurately capturing medical histories, physical exam findings, procedures, diagnoses, and treatment plans as dictated by the provider.
• Support provider efficiency by entering orders into the EMR exactly as instructed and ensuring documentation is complete and accurate.
• Create and document telephone encounters and other patient communications under the direction of the provider.
• Ensure medical documentation accurately reflects the provider's clinical findings and selected E&M level.
• Collaborate closely with physicians and advanced practice providers, escalating clinical questions or documentation concerns promptly for clarification.
• Maintain accurate, organized, and confidential electronic medical records while supporting efficient clinic workflow.
