Job description

Description

Are you an organized and driven individual looking for a challenging and fulfilling role in a fast-paced environment? Do you want to be part of a dedicated team that makes a significant impact on customers and colleagues? If you embrace change and look for opportunities to make a difference, we’re looking for you.

Kelli's is a leading wholesale retail distributor, and we hire exceptional people. We seek individuals who are not afraid of hard work, can manage competing priorities, and who take challenges head on.

Our Inbound Supervisor role embodies these qualities daily. Receiving is the first step in our inventory process, and every error caught at the dock is one that never reaches a picker, a customer, or an invoice. This role brings leadership, an exceptional eye for detail, and a commitment to clear communication across departments to support efficient, accurate, and safe warehouse operations. Climate controlled warehouse.

Responsibilities
  • Team Leadership: Supervise, train, and coach the receiving and value-add teams. Schedule staffing to match inbound volume, provide regular performance feedback, and hold the team to the Receiving SOP.
  • Receiving Accuracy: Own the accuracy of every receipt. Ensure counts match the BOL and packing slip, UOM and expiration dates are correct, and product is labeled and pick-ready before it leaves the dock.
  • Value-Add & Prep: Oversee the value-add team that relabels and bags product, ensuring items are accurately prepped, customer-ready, and moved to putaway without delay.
  • Dock & Freight Management: Manage the inbound appointment schedule and carrier relationships, prioritize daily freight and carryover, and document and resolve OS&D (overages, shortages, and damages).
  • Cross-Department Collaboration: Serve as the link between receiving and the rest of the business: ordered vs. received with Purchasing, received vs. billed with Accounting, exceptions and next steps with Putaway & Replenishment, and downstream error feedback with Outbound. Escalate issues to leadership as needed.
  • Workflow & Systems: Leverage WMS and ERP platforms to prioritize work, verify POs, and keep inventory records accurate.
  • Process Improvement: Spot recurring issues such as vendor errors, rework, and bottlenecks, then fix the root cause with the team and partner departments. Keep the Receiving SOP current as processes improve.
  • Safety: Enforce safe dock practices, including trailer safety, forklift operation, proper lifting, and clean, hazard-free work areas.
  • Adaptability & Continuous Improvement: Embrace change, manage shifting priorities, and foster team growth through upward feedback.
Requirements
Required Education and Experience
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in related field preferred.
  • Industry Experience: 1-3 years in distribution, logistics, or warehouse operations; receiving or inventory control experience strongly preferred.
  • Leadership Experience: 1 year as a team lead, shift lead, or related preferred.
  • Attention to Detail: Proven ability to catch and resolve discrepancies and communicate them clearly across departments.
  • Equipment: Forklift certification or ability to obtain; experience with RF scanners. Ability to stand, bend, and lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Skills: Warehouse management systems (WMS), enterprise resource planning (ERP) software and Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word).

Our organization values a business casual environment focused on teamwork, professional development, training, and continuous improvement. We offer competitive salaries, insurance benefits (including health, dental, vision, and life), a 401K plan, PTO, and holidays.
