Job summary

NRI Distribution is seeking an Inbound Supervisor to guide the Receiving and Returns teams, ensuring timely receipt of orders and commitments. You will work with clients and lead continuous improvement efforts, maintaining safety and efficiency in a fast-paced environment.

The role reports to operations leadership and requires strong WMS proficiency, team leadership, and adaptability to changing priorities. Schedule: Mon–Fri, 8am–5:30pm; Full Time; EEO is the Law.

Qualifications

  • 3+ years of experience leading a Receiving team
  • Bachelor's degree in supply chain, logistics or related field (preferred)
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office applications, specifically Outlook
  • Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs and stand/walk for extended periods
  • Bilingual Spanish/English preferred but not required

Responsibilities

  • Ensure inbound shipments are processed according to SLA commitments
  • Repackaging of multi-sku cartons and correct location placement within the warehouse
  • Plan inbound labor requirements
  • Coordinate with Inbound Lead and Client Services for anomalies impacting labor

Job description

As an Inbound Supervisor, you will play an important part in providing direction to the Receiving and Returns teams by ensuring timely receiving of orders and commitments. You’ll be working with product from some awesome clients that are heavily involved in the active lifestyle.

The ideal candidate is someone who is team-oriented, proactive and has a high attention to detail. You should enjoy working in a fast-paced environment and priorities that may change daily, while remaining focused on partnering with the team and discern any potential roadblocks to task completion.

Schedule

Monday – Friday (8am – 5:30pm)

What You’ll Bring to the Role:

  • Excellent technical capabilities with proficiency in warehouse management system (WMS)
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize duties, follow through assignments with a minimum of direction, and be extremely detail oriented
  • Experience in continuous improvement tools/methodologies to drive customer fulfillment, quality, efficiency and safety
  • Experience in leading personnel to ensure all assigned activities are performed effectively and efficiently.
  • Has the ability to be flexible and adapt to changing priorities.

The Must Haves

  • 3+ years of experience leading a Receiving team
  • A bachelor's degree in supply chain, Logistics or related field is a PLUS
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office applications, specifically Outlook
  • Must have physical ability to carry out essential job functions, including but not limited to, the ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs., walking and standing for extended periods, climbing ladders/stairs, comfortable with heights in elevated areas and tolerating conditions such as dust, dirt, noise, odors, heat, cold, etc.
  • Bilingual (Spanish/English) preferred but not required

Things You Will Be Doing

  • Ensures that all inbound shipments are processed according to service level agreement (SLA) commitments to the Client.
  • Ensures that multi-sku cartons are repackaged appropriately, and that all product is put to the appropriate location within the warehouse in a timely fashion.
  • Plans Inbound labor requirements.
  • Works with the Inbound Lead around the forward-looking load and the Client Services Team regarding any anomalies that will need to be addressed on Inbound that will have an impact on labor. (i.e. 100% audit, quality inspection, etc.).

Leadership

  • Ensures the training, cross-training and development of team members.
  • Communicates expectations and provides regular feedback on performance
  • Ensures safe operations of the business specific to their area of accountability, while being vocal about safety concerns in other areas.
  • Focuses on process improvement that will drive efficiency, quality, safety and reduction of waste.
