Qualifications

• Must be able to read and write English and perform simple math.
• Must pass a pre-employment drug screen and a negative result is required.
• Must pass a DOT non-physical? (as specified: NON -Department of Transportation physical examination)
• Ten-year work history check required; gaps must be explained.
• At-will employment relationship with Pitt Ohio.

Responsibilities

• Read and follow loading instructions; communicate with customers and internal staff.
• Load and unload freight on/off trucks by hand or with hand truck/dolly, in compliance with DOT requirements.
• Secure items on trucks/docks to prevent damage.
• Lift various materials including cartons, bags, crates, drums, pipes, and more.
• Use material handling tools such as carts, dollies, pallet jacks, and tow motors.
• Maintain safety and professionalism at all times; comply with regulations.
• Process daily paperwork related to the job.
• Be available to work; exceptions require management approval.
• Perform other duties as directed.
