Job summary

Inotiv is seeking a Laboratory Animal Technician to assist in accurately and efficiently conducting animal studies at our Colorado facility. You will work with rats and mice, administer dosing, collect samples, perform behavioral tests, and help maintain data quality under supervision.

Qualifications

• B.S./B.A. in science with 2+ years animal work, or AA with 4+ years, or 8+ years without degree.
• Preferred experience with mice and rats, including dosing and necropsy collections.
• Salary range is $24-$32/hr; varies by level and experience.

Responsibilities

• Administer doses of compounds to rats and mice via multiple routes.
• Perform data collections including weighing, observations, health assessments.
• Collect blood via tail vein, retro-orbital, and terminal draws.
• Process whole blood collection via centrifugation for plasma/serum.
• Perform behavioral testing (gait analysis, Von Frey, Dynamic Weight Bearing).
• Assist in formulating experimental compounds for administration.
• Assist in rodent surgeries.
• Troubleshoot issues and elevate study concerns as needed.
• Ensure study timelines and data quality; review junior data for accuracy.
• Maintain clean lab and stocked supplies.
• Use Windows software (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) for data and reports.
