Job summary

Inotiv, Inc. is seeking an Animal Technician to support animal care, welfare, production and recordkeeping, while helping maintain a clean, safe, and compliant facility.

You will work with laboratory animals, follow care protocols, and contribute to high-quality data for customer orders. The ideal candidate is detailed, organized, and a strong team player who can handle rotating weekends/holidays and overtime, lift up to 50 lbs, and stand on concrete for extended periods.

Qualifications

• Weekend/holiday shifts on a rotating basis.
• Willingness to work overtime when needed.
• Lift up to 50 lbs.
• Stand/walk on concrete for at least 2 hours at a time.
• Frequently bend, reach, push, pull, squat and lift.

Responsibilities

• Cares for animals including feeding, cleaning and breeding responsibilities.
• Maintains detailed records of animal production and inventory.
• Keeps accurate records of feeding, cleaning and care of animals.
• Follows protocol to ensure health and welfare of the animals.
• Work within changing shift times and rotating overtime schedule.
• Maintains sanitation of the animal buildings, cages and support areas.
• Able to handle laboratory animals and recognize abnormalities.
• Demonstrate commitment to provide the highest quality care for laboratory animals and offspring.
• Ability to perform repetitive tasks quickly and efficiently.
• Good teamwork skills.
• Able to work in a confined environment.
• Work in a standing position that will require bending and stretching of arms and legs.
• Other duties as assigned.
