Job summary

AbbVie is seeking a Principal Scientist to lead invivo antibody discovery at the Worcester Bioresearch Center. You will guide immunization-based discovery, apply AI-enabled workflows, and manage cross-functional teams to identify high-quality antibody candidates for immunology, neuroscience, and oncology programs.

Qualifications

• BS, MS, or PhD with 6+ (PhD), 12+ (MS), or 14+ (BS) years of industry experience.
• Hands-on antibody discovery platforms including single B cell cloning and immune repertoire screening.
• Experience designing antigens and immunization strategies for challenging targets.
• Expertise in hit identification, screening cascades, and lead triage/selection.

Responsibilities

• Lead antibody discovery programs from hit identification to candidate nomination.
• Design antigen engineering strategies and immunization approaches to maximize immune response.
• Provide technical leadership across discovery platforms including B cell cloning and hybridoma.
• Mentor scientists and contribute to scientific reputation through publications and collaborations.
