Job summary

Raven is building a discovery‑stage oligonucleotide platform in Cambridge, MA and is hiring an Associate Scientist In Vitro Pharmacology and Assay Development. You will establish core cell culture and in vitro/ex vivo readouts to support two capabilities: a robust pharmacology engine and CRO‑driven in vivo pharmacology integration.

The role requires deep molecular biology and -omics fluency, hands‑on assay development, and a drive to build foundational lab capabilities for a fast‑moving biotech

Qualifications

• BS with 8+ years of relevant experience, preferably in biotech settings.
• MS with 6+ years of relevant experience, commensurate with depth.
• Hands‑on aseptic technique and mammalian cell culture experience.
• End‑to‑end cell‑based assay development expertise.
• Strong molecular biology capabilities and biomarker readouts.
• Experience with oligonucleotide modalities and delivery systems.

Responsibilities

• Stand up cell culture from the ground up including primary and stem‑cell‑derived cells.
• Design, develop, and run in vitro assays for oligonucleotides and conjugates.
• Build an assay toolkit for hit profiling and dose–response.
• Establish tissue‑processing and ex vivo analyses for PK/PD readouts.
• Lead bioanalytical method development for quantitation of oligonucleotides and conjugates.
• Develop translational biomarkers to track PD and target engagement.
• Bring in new methods and train team members; maintain records and SOPs.
• Collaborate with in vivo, analytical chemistry, and delivery science teams.
